Rate Comparison

It has come to our attention that there are some recent discussions regarding Princeton Public Utilities rates. These discussions have included incorrect information such as PPU billing residential customers 16-17 cents / kWh and that our charges are not available for review by the public.

In fact, our rates are published online and can be found at:  https://princetonutilities.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/2026-Rate-Book-01.pdf. We also suggest that customers simply look at their bills to see the their electric charges. You will notice the monthly charge is $15.23.

The average monthly consumption of residential PPU customers from the March billing was 480 kWh per customer. Using this and the published rates from other electric utilities in the area, please refer to the table below to see how PPU compares to our neighbors.

In addition, Commission packets and videos of all meetings are available online for customers to watch at their convenience. They can be accessed through our website (https://princetonutilities.com/public-utilities-commission/) or on our YouTube channel (https://www.youtube.com/@princetonpublicutilities5915). PPU is one of the very few electric utilities that records and stores its meetings online for full transparency.
