Energy Efficiency at Sunken Ship Brewery

Sunken Ship Owner Teresa Smith received a rebate check of $3,950 from Princeton Public Utilities Commissioner Richard Schwartz, Energy Services Representative Nancy Kelly, and Princeton Public Utilities General Manager Keith Butcher.

The qualifying projects included high-efficiency LED lighting, an ENERGY STAR® refrigerator, and a custom rebate for variable speed drives in the brewing process. Annual energy savings are approximately $6,565 over standard-efficiency equipment. This project reduces greenhouse gas emissions equivalent to planting forty-four acres of forest or taking eight cars off the roads. Teresa shared, “It was interesting to learn how much we could save using energy efficient equipment. This is a significant savings for us.”
